It’s safe to say that the Rand has taken a significant backwards step since we last spoke. Has this been a gradual slide over the last 2 weeks or has there been a specific catalyst sending us lower?
So the FED has spooked the market but is this an overreaction, or should we be worried about further losses?
Obviously US monetary policy is a big driver of Dollar movement which in turn impacts the Rand but do we have any tools at our disposal that will help cushion the blow?
If we can adjust monetary policy to defend our currency then surely the same is true for the UK and Europe when it comes to the Pound and the Euro?
