Relationships are our greatest treasure. Irrespective of the polls or research we access, relationships, particularly with family, take precedence over everything else. Material things only serve as a substitute for human connection. Most people’s top 5 also include health and living a life of meaning.
Preserving and building our most valued treasure requires effort, honest and open communication, trust, mutual respect and sharing experiences. It’s amazing how many family relationships grow by simply watching their children play school sport on the weekend.
There is far too much research on living a healthy life for me to begin. The new trend that has moved into the top 5 is purpose. Having a reason to get out of bed every day and knowing that you have an aspirational reason for being that impacts the world positively is highly valued by people.
This may seem like an unusual article for a financial services business, but we play significant roles in what is most important to you. While we cannot build meaningful relationships with your family, we certainly can protect the ones you love the most in the world if anything should happen to you.
